STAFF OF THE GOVERNMENT

"The United Nations Youth Assembly" was opened in Batumi. Around one thousand youngsters from almost every region of Georgia are participating in this project. Vakhtang Kolbaia, Acting Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia; Tornike Rizhvadze, the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and David Gabaidze, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara took part in the event and addressed the guests.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Elguja (Gia) Gvazava, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, the representatives of the diplomatic missions and NGOs.
The project is conducted by the Non-Governmental Organization “Multinational Georgia for strengthening democratic values”. The organization holds similar international and regional projects for more than 10 years in Georgia, Europe and USA. In the framework of the project, young delegates will attend sessions on the issues of the United Nations sustainable development goals. They will have official visits to the governmental agencies of Adjara, the international organizations and diplomatic missions where they will learn about the working principles. The project also includes grant-resolution project competition. Specially invited jury will reveal three winners who will implement the resolution projects within the small grant programmes.
