Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia Attends the Launch of the Abkhaz-Language Edition of Dato Magradze’s "Giacomo Ponti"

A presentation of the Abkhaz-language translation of the Georgian poet Dato Magradze’s poem "Giacomo Ponti" was held at the National Library of Georgia. The event was attended by Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The event began with welcoming remarks from David Patsatsia, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from Abkhazia. The poet Dato Magradze discussed the book and treated the audience to readings of selected passages from the poem.

The Abkhaz-language translation of Giacomo Ponti was the result of a collaborative effort between Abkhaz language specialist Irma Osia-Kintsurashvili and an Abkhaz poet.

The event was also attended by Jemal Gamakharia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia; Members of the Parliament of Georgia; deputies of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia; as well as writers and poets.

The presentation was organized by the Services Agency of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. The aim of the event was to promote the Abkhaz-language version of the poem and to contribute to the strengthening of Georgian-Abkhaz relations.

The Unified National Exams have Officially Begun in Georgia

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, visited the examination center inaugurated at Zugdidi Public School N4, accompanied by Davit Verava, the State Representative of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region, and Mamuka Tsotseria, the Mayor of Zugdidi Municipality.

During the event, the Chairman addressed the IDP (internally displaced persons) applicants from Abkhazia, wishing them success as they take their exams.

"Today is a very important day for all of our entrants, including the young people temporarily displaced from Abkhazia, who play a crucial role in the unification and success of Georgia. I extend my best wishes to them in their exams, as the future of the country, unity, and restoration of trust depend on their achievements.

I also want to highlight that young people living in our occupied territories, just a few kilometers from Zugdidi, face significant educational limitations, particularly in accessing education in the Georgian language. However, I am confident that it is precisely through the involvement of these young people and the strength of public diplomacy that these problems will be resolved and Georgia’s territorial integrity will be restored," stated Giorgi Jincharadze.

The unified national exams began with a Georgian Language and Literature test and will run through 22 July.

Giorgi Jincharadze paid tribute to the memory of heroes fallen during the Tamishi Battle

32 years have passed since the Battle of Tamishi during the Abkhazian War. On this day, Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, along with Jemal Gamakharia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia, and Koba Kobaladze, Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, laid wreaths at the memorial to the fallen heroes of the Tamishi battle to honor their memory.

“The Battle of Tamishi is one of the most important events in the recent history of Georgia. It is an example for our youth. Our heroes sacrificed their most precious lives for the unity of Georgia.

I am confident that the idea for which these people sacrificed their lives for our homeland will be realized and Georgia will be united,” Giorgi Jincharadze said.

Members of the government of Abkhazia, deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, and the Union of warriors of Abkhazia were also present at the memorial.

The Abkhazian side landed the marine landing from the Russian military vessel on July 2, 1993, near the borough of Tamishi. After several days of fighting the Georgian side lost more than 300 soldiers. Despite the great casualties, the Georgian forces managed to repel and destroy the enemy and to maintain control over a strategic zone.

Giorgi Jincharadze Participates in the 64th Round of Geneva International Discussions

The 64th round of international discussions is currently underway in Geneva.

The Georgian delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, has traveled to the discussions. Among the delegation members is Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

Key topics for this round of discussions include Russia’s compliance with its international obligations under the EU-mediated 12 August 2008 Ceasefire Agreement, as well as return of internally displaced persons and refugees in the safe and dignified manner.

“At this round of international negotiations in Geneva, we will address the various challenges facing our population. This includes systematic illegal detentions, for which we will respond appropriately and seek the unconditional release of those detained, in coordination with our international partners.

Another critical issue will be the return of displaced persons to their homes, along with the urgent matter of banning education in the Georgian language in the occupied territories. We face significant challenges in this area, and this format allows us to discuss these issues more comprehensively with our international partners,” stated Giorgi Jincharadze.

The 64th round of international negotiations in Geneva is scheduled for June 25-26.

Giorgi Jincharadze Attended an Exhibition Showcasing Products Made by IDP Entrepreneurs from Abkhazia

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, along with Giorgi Volski, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, visited the exhibition and sale of the products made by IDP entrepreneurs from Abkhazia on Chavchavadze Avenue.

The exhibition featured handmade items created by IDP women entrepreneurs, including jewelry, knitted toys, textile goods, ceramic products, and various food items.

During the event, the Chairman of the Government and the guests viewed the displayed products, engaged in conversations with the entrepreneurs, and expressed their gratitude to the supporters of the event.

The exhibition was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, with support from the Tbilisi City Assembly, to assist and strengthen IDP entrepreneurs while promoting their products.

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia Met with IDPs living in Potskhoetseri

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, is continuing his series of meetings with internally displaced persons (IDPs).

After visiting Zugdidi, he traveled to the village of Potskhoetseri in the Tsalenjikha Municipality to assess the needs and living conditions of the displaced population.

During his visit, Jincharadze directly engaged with the IDPs, listening to their concerns regarding employment opportunities and housing conditions.

These meetings are part of a broader effort to understand the needs of displaced persons from Abkhazia and to ensure that institutional responses are timely and effective. Consultations will continue in the near future.

Giorgi Jincharadze met with IDPs from Abkhazia living in Zugdidi

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, recently met with internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia who are living in Zugdidi. Accompanied by the State Representative of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region and local government representatives, Jincharadze visited the IDP communities in the compact settlements of Paipuri and Kombinati.

During his visit, the Chairman assessed the living conditions and addressed the needs of the residents. He also shared information about current programs and plans of the Abkhazian government aimed at supporting IDPs from Abkhazia.

Giorgi Jincharadze emphasized the government's commitment to improving the socio-economic situation of the internally displaced population and ensuring they have decent living conditions in Abkhazia until their return home is possible.

Giorgi Jincharadze noted that the Abkhazian government will do everything within its competence to improve the socio-economic situation of the internally displaced population and provide them with decent living conditions in Abkhazia before they return to their homes.

"It is of utmost importance to me to be in direct communication with the IDP population. That is why we plan to personally visit each such settlement and get to know the existing needs on the spot.

We must stand by each displaced person until their dignified return to their homes becomes possible," said Giorgi Jincharadze.

The parties also discussed how to develop their cooperation going forward, with a common goal of creating concerted initiatives to enhance the integration and well-being of IDPs from Abkhazia.

Giorgi Jincharadze Met with the Minister of Health and Social Affairs of Ajara

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, met with Nino Nizharadze, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.

During the introductory meeting, they discussed challenges, future visions, and plans in the healthcare sector.

They paid special attention to the social needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia living in the Ajara region and the issues related to ensuring their access to health services.

It was noted that IDPs in Ajara actively utilize the Ministry's existing programs and services. Currently, there are 7,850 IDPs from Abkhazia residing in the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.

The meeting also focused on the potential for deepening future cooperation and engaging in joint projects.

Giorgi Jincharadze Hosted Students at the Exhibition of Alexander Sharvashidze’s Works

Students from the Abkhazian Center "Meskhetian Youth for Unity" at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University and the "Peace Center" at the Georgian Technical University had the opportunity to explore the lives, artistic contributions, and unique heritage of three distinguished members of the Sharvashidze family, presented in the exhibition space.

Giorgi Jincharadze addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, highlighting Alexander Sharvashidze’s legacy and the importance of cultural dialogue in the Georgian-Abkhaz reconciliation process.
As part of the event, the book “Alexander Sharvashidze” was officially presented.

Giorgi Volski, the First Vice-Speaker, as the Chair of the Interim Commission on Restoration of Territorial Integrity and De-occupation; Anzor Margiani, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia; Beka Gvachliani, Minister of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Maka Beridze; Rector of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, as well as students from both Samtskhe-Javakheti State University and Georgian Technical University, attended the exhibition.

The exhibition, “Alexander Sharvashidze – Retrospective”, was held within the framework of the Parliament’s Temporary Commission project “Culture Unites Us” and aimed to raise awareness and promote the cultural heritage of Abkhazia among young people.
